Walk for the Animals 2004 Photo Gallery

Volunteers gathered bright and early to set up for the day's events.

Sponsors greeted walkers & dogs at the booths.

More than 400 people and dogs came out to support the League...

including volunteers from the Heatherlee neighborhood, League graduate Heidi...

The Washington Post Mascot Ned the Newshound and now-League graduate Pete.

We even had some special visitors from the Arlington County Board including Chairman Barbara Favola, Paul Ferguson...

Walter Tejada and Chris Zimmerman.

Everyone took their marks...

and the Walk began...

More fun awaited walkers upon their return, from face painting...

to demonstrations by the Beagle Brigade and Flyball...

and the Arlington K9s in action!

The Walk ended with prizes. The prize for Top Earning Team went to the Iowa Hawkeyes, lead by Pete Jeffries; the prize for Top Earning Individual also went to Pete Jeffries.

When all was said and done, more than $40,000 was raised to help homeless animals & our tired walkers got to take a nap!
