DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, May 7\, 2016\, the Animal Welfare League of Arlington will host the Annual Walk for the Animals at Bluemont Park in Arlington. This event brings together hundreds of local animal lovers and their canine companions for a walk to benefit AWLA shelter animals and support the services and programs that the League provides to the community. \nSince the beginning\, this event has raised life-saving funds that have provided critical medical care\, food\, shelter\, training and adoption services for tens of thousands of League animals.\nYour participation directly supports the League’s mission – to improve the lives of animals – and enriches the lives of all shelter animals as they await adoption and their forever homes.\nYour generosity educates members of our community about responsible pet ownership and supports services like our low-cost spay/neuter voucher program\, monthly rabies and microchip clinics\, and emergency veterinary assistance loans so that our neighbors can provide their pets with long\, healthy and happy lives. \nPlease support the AWLA Walk for the Animals so that together we can reach our fundraising goal of $100\,000 and continue to provide professional and compassionate care for the animals entrusted to us and the people who adopt them. \nAll pre-registered walkers receive a Walk T-shirt and participating dogs get a Walk bandana. \nDemonstrate your devotion to animal welfare with every step you take! DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us on Sunday\, May 15 from 12-6pm when the Ballston Business Improvement District will host the 29th annual Taste of Arlington presented by BallstonGives and benefiting the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). This exciting and highly anticipated event transforms Wilson Boulevard and neighboring streets into a family-friendly street festival with dining\, music and entertainment for all ages.  AWLA will be in booth 115 in the Bark Park! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTaste of Arlington – THIS SUNDAY  \n\n50 tastes to try\, a dog park\, games and music. Did we mention the food? Taste of Arlington kicks off this weekend!\n\n\nThis annual festival features the cuisine of nearly 50 Arlington restaurants (see all participating restaurants and what they are serving here)\, two concert stages with live music\, an expanded Beer and Wine Garden with Deschutes Brewery’s Street Pub\, a 5k race benefiting Girls on the Run\, BarkPark and a KidZone with a rock climbing wall and carnival games. \n\nNEW this year– the ultimate block party is coming to Taste of Arlington! Taste of Arlington has partnered with Deschutes Brewery\, that is packing up its pub of epic proportions and can be found in the Beer & Wine Garden. The Deschutes Street Pub will take to the streets with its 400+ foot bar\, pouring a huge selection of Deschutes Brewery beers from a multitude of taps (think everything from Fresh Squeezed IPA to The Abyss). \nThe festival is held every year on Wilson Boulevard in front of the Ballston Common Mall\, spanning several blocks stretching along Wilson Boulevard from N. Glebe Road to N. Quincy Street\, along N. Stuart Street to 9th Street and Randolph Street.
