(September 2021 to December 2022) Each photo entry and vote equals life-saving funds that care for animals in need. From tiny kittens\, senior pups\, injured wildlife\, pet parents in need\, and everything in between\, your support guides us on our mission to improve the lives of pets and people in Arlington County. \nSo what are you waiting for? Scroll through the 300 pictures of your pet on your camera roll to find the perfect shot\, or get the camera and treats out and start snapping. May the cutest pet win! \nNew this year: \n\nFull-month features of your winning pet! That’s right\, the top 15 pets will receive an exclusive full month feature\, so bring you’re A-Game\, the competition just got real!\nDecember 2022 will be a winning feature of an AWLA staff favorite pick\, so get that camera out and make us smile\, anyone can take this one!\nSpecial new entry fee! This year it is just $10 to enter the competition. Note that calendars are not included in entry\, but are available for separate purchase.\nVoting begins April 1 and ends April 15 with calendars available for purchase for an extra week after voting closes. The final calendar purchase date is April 22. There will be no availability after April 22\, so be sure to get your orders in. DESCRIPTION:Pet Pantry Delivery Day\nAWLA’s goal is to keep pets with their families by providing pet care essentials including food\, enrichment items\, preventatives\, and more. Residents of Arlington County and Falls Church City may pick up items from the shelter during our regular business hours. There are no income requirements or forms to fill out – if you need assistance\, we are here to help! \nFor residents physically unable to pick up pet supplies at the shelter\, AWLA offers a select number of delivery days where supplies can be dropped off at your home. Our April delivery day is Saturday\, April 10 from 9am-11am. The sign-up form below will open on Saturday\, April 3\, and will close when we reach capacity. \nOur Pet Pantry is stocked and supported by generous donations. We cannot guarantee what particular items will be available for distribution on the day of the event. We will do our best to provide as many meals as possible on the day of the deliveries. \n\nRequirements:\n\nYou must live in Arlington County or the City of Falls Church.\nDelivery days are reserved for those who cannot physically get to the shelter\, or do not have a friend/family member to do so for them. If you are physically able to pick up food from the shelter\, please do so.\nAn adult (18 years old +) must be at your home and available between 9am and 11am on this date to receive supplies.\nYou must have a working phone number that our volunteers can call if they have trouble with the delivery.\nAt this time this event is only providing supplies for cats and dogs.\n\nIf you have further questions about this event\, please email Ashley Hay at communitysupport@awla.org. SUMMARY:Kids Workshops: Bundles of Fuzz (Rabbits & Chinchillas)
DESCRIPTION:Who doesn’t love fuzzy animals? We sure do! Learn all about the softest animals in the world\, chinchillas\, in addition to the cutest animals in the world\, rabbits. This lesson will be filled with information about the care and needs of these animals\, behaviors\, history\, and more. \n\n\nSign Up Now\n  \n\nAWLA is now hosting monthly AWLA Workshops in which families can pick and choose what topics their kids can learn about. Join us for monthly virtual workshops\, where your child can join us on Zoom and learn about a topic that truly interests them. Each lesson will have a chosen topic in which the children will learn about through fun and interactive presentations and games. The virtual lesson will conclude with a visit from a special furry friend. There will be a rolling registration throughout the year with the initial registration opening in mid-November. Workshops will run from January through October.
