Visitors are welcome to walk our shelter dogs as part of their daily enrichment!

How It Works

  • You must be 18+ years old with a valid I.D.
  • Public dog-walking is open on Mon/Wed/Thurs/Fri between 12 and 5pm
  • Give us a call at (703) 931-9241 before you stop by to ensure we have dogs available to walk that day. We do not allow the public to walk dogs outside of these hours. We cannot guarantee that we will always have dogs available to be walked, so we highly recommend calling in advance.
  • Take one of our dogs for a 15-minute walk around the neighborhood. A staff member will choose an appropriate dog and fit them with a harness and leash for you!
