Meet Banjo

A sweet, loyal boy who loves the outdoors and building strong bonds with his people.
Banjo takes a little time getting to know new folks, but once he notices you’re a friend, he becomes comfortable around you and enjoys being part of the moment. He loves spending time outside whether it’s going for walks, exploring, or just relaxing in the fresh air. One of his favorite pastimes is soaking up the sunshine, and he’ll happily sunbathe while keeping you company.

Because he can be unsure with new people, especially in his home, Banjo is looking for a patient and understanding family. He would do best with older, dog-savvy children who understand “consent to pet,” can read his body language, and respect his boundaries.

Thoughtful introductions will help Banjo succeed. If someone is only visiting briefly, it’s perfectly fine to give him space and skip introductions. For people who will be around more regularly, he does best meeting outside on leash taking a walk together is a great way to start. Having the new person offer high-value treats can also help build a positive connection before heading inside together.

Banjo may show some reactivity to unfamiliar people or dogs on leash or during introductions, so his future family should be open to continuing his training with positive reinforcement. Training classes will help build his confidence and strengthen his skills.

With time, patience, and understanding, Banjo will be a wonderful companion who loves sharing outdoor adventures and sunny lounging sessions with his favorite people.
