Spring means baby season at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington — and that means an influx of orphaned kittens and injured wildlife babies who need round-the-clock care.

Join us for our annual Kitten & Wildlife Baby Shower, a free community event where you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how our team raises neonatal kittens and rehabilitates baby wildlife during one of the busiest times of year.

What Is Baby Season?

Each spring, animal shelters and wildlife rehabilitation centers across Northern Virginia prepare for hundreds of vulnerable animals in need of intensive care. Many of these tiny patients require bottle feeding every few hours, specialized medical treatment, and dedicated foster support.

This event gives our community the opportunity to learn how AWLA prepares for baby season — and how you can help save lives.

What to Expect at the Baby Shower

  • Behind-the-scenes insights into kitten care and wildlife rehabilitation
  • Educational, family-friendly activities
  • Meet the teams who care for our tiniest patients
  • Learn how to support baby animals during spring and summer

Admission is free (RSVP requested).

Help Us Stock the Nursery

Guests are encouraged to bring an item from our baby season registry to help us stock up on essential supplies like:

  • Kitten formula
  • Heating pads
  • Small bottles
  • Towels and cleaning supplies

Your support helps ensure we’re ready when the tiniest arrivals begin.

Be Part of Baby Season at AWLA

These babies won’t stay babies forever — but during baby season, they need us more than ever.
