Kiki's previous- not current- foster told us, “We have spent the last four weeks with Kiki, and we wanted to share a few tips and tricks we've learned with this sweet (and very soft!) special needs boy.
Kiki really appreciates being led on a light leash (we've included a short one in his bag). If he was walking around our house at all, I kept a leash on him for guiding. I also developed two “posts” in different rooms of the house where he would be on a long leash and could sit and hang out safely with the family (while we cooked, etc.), without wandering away.
Kiki LOVES walks more than anything, as he gets to go on “sniffari” and check out so many interesting smells! His favorite thing ever is the first walk of the day. If I'm not at the door with my shoes on by 8 a.m., he would be excitedly jumping up to encourage me to get moving! He loves nothing more than to walk/sleep, walk/sleep – you get the picture!”
