About Me

Hi! My name is Midnight you might say I am a bit of an introvert when you first meet me since I like to keep to myself at first and need my space. But if you're patient and give me plenty of treats you will find that I am actually a bit of a goof-ball.

My foster family says:

There's nothing dark about Midnight – each time you look at him, his crystal blue eyes transport you back to the bluest waters you've ever seen – bluer even – and, unlike his name, Midnight is truly a bright presence. He is a genuinely gentle soul who has demonstrated patience and knows how to sit and shake, especially when prompted with peanut butter or treats! Although he's clearly a husky, we think he might be part fox because he runs and leaps in a manner that resembles an arctic fox tracking a mouse scurrying beneath the snow. Midnight has a magical aura to his personality that we're sure you'll fall in love with if you give him a chance. While he's a little skittish and shy at first, he has warmed right up in our busy home full of pets and middle school children coming and going.

Midnight's favorite things are: Sniffing everything he can! Of course, treats are great too!
But he's not so into: Midnight likes to take his time to get to know a new face and is not so into pets from strangers. It takes him a minute to warm up to new faces, but he will definitely warm up after a few hesitant sniffs. Just be patient with him and make sure people give him the space he needs to adjust.

His special talents are: Midnight does very well on his leash. In fact, he may have taught our dog some leash manners! While Midnight gets jumpy here and there at noises during walks, he does not pull, bark or lunge on his leash. Midnight also does not appear to be much of a barker, we haven't heard him bark once!

His perfect day would be: A big breakfast followed by a nice walk, time to himself outdoors in a yard where he can be curious, and then snuggles at your feet while you read a book.
If Midnight was an ice cream flavor, he would be: Saffron honey pistachio – because he is unique and needs time to flourish like saffron, is sweet like honey, and is warm like pistachios!

Important facts about (Midnight): While staying in our home, Midnight was exposed to a dog and a cat. Midnight was highly patient and tolerant of the cat, although the cat did not feel the same way! Even at our cat's aggression, Midnight merely retreated from her presence and did not attack her. Midnight played well with our dog and they burned off their youthful energy together doing laps across the yard. We think Midnight would do best in a home with a yard. He has natural youthful energy and likes to keep investigating (mostly because he seems to be so curious and wants to sniff things), so a yard where he could pace back and forth might make him the happiest (or the ability to go on lots of walks!). Midnight enjoys playing with just a handful of toys and we noticed he liked ripping out the squeaky bits from the stuffed animals. We have two Middle School children in our home and Midnight did very well with them. We didn't observe any concerning behaviors with respect to his presence around our children, as he demonstrated a very gentle demeanor.
