Meet Onyx
Onyx is a sensitive, soulful cat who is looking for a calm and understanding home where he can truly feel safe. While he may be a little shy at first, with patience and kindness, Onyx has shown that he can slowly come out of his shell and build meaningful connections with his people.
Onyx would do best in a quiet, adult-only home with no other pets, where he can settle in at his own pace. Transitions have been tough for him in the past both in the shelter. Once given a few days to decompress, he begins to relax and show his gentle personality.
His ideal adopter will be someone who understands that trust takes time. Setting up a cozy, low-stress “decompression space” and allowing Onyx to approach on his own terms will go a long way in helping him feel secure. With patience, consistency, and a loving environment, Onyx has the potential to truly thrive.
Because of his adjustment needs, a foster-to-adopt with behavioral support is required to help ensure a successful transition for both Onyx and his future family.
