Toffee

Toffee is a shy but sassy queen in the cutest little body. She has shorter legs and is smaller than her brother, Cider, but she has the personality that fits one of royalty. She will sit near you and judge you from nearby, walk in front of the food bowl and glare at you so you know the bowl is empty, and stare you down from the top of the shelf when it’s bedtime and you’re not in bed yet.

She will make you work for her trust. Although, that trust can be slowly gained by having her favorite treat. She doesn’t like to be picked up but secretly loves pets and snuggles. You’ll know you’ve won when she starts purring, only to immediately shoot you a look of betrayal and run away, just in case you thought she was enjoying it. While she’s not bonded to her brother, she does need another cat who likes other cats in the house. She spends her days trailing the resident cat, seeking comfort and cuddles when life gets too stressful.

Toffee needs a quiet house and a patient family willing to accept that it will take time to get to her to trust them. It took her foster parents two weeks just to get a pet, and a full month before she graced their bed. If you can respect her space, move slowly, and offer endless devotion (and treats!), this little queen is ready to slowly, begrudgingly, but completely, love you back.
