When I see the UPS driver come through the shelter doors with packages of Pantry items, it feels like Christmas morning! I get so excited to share food and supplies with pet families in our community to help them keep and care for their beloved animals.
Many animals surrendered to shelters are given up due to solvable problems. Research shows that housing issues, financial constraints, lack of access to care, and behavioral issues are among the top reasons people surrender their pets. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, rising eviction rates, soaring rents, a shortage of pet-inclusive housing, and increasing costs for food and other goods have hit lower income pet owners the hardest.
That’s why we’re asking you to give today to support our Pet Pantry. Sometimes a bag of kibble or a case of canned food can make all the difference. Your donation will keep pets and people together, bellies full, and bodies healthy. And every Giving Tuesday donation will be matched up to $6,000 thanks to our Board of Directors.
