The Woody and Mickey Healthy Pet Fund was established by Julie Gould and Percy Ivy, in memory of their dogs Woody and Mickey, to provide supplemental, specialized medical care and ongoing treatment for shelter animals whose untreated condition might otherwise prolong their stay at the shelter, or prevent them from being adopted altogether.

The scope of the fund has since been expanded to include dental cleanings, orthopedic surgery, specialized tests, medical equipment, training for staff, and supplemental behavioral modification for shelter animals, all of which would be too costly for the League to undertake without additional funding.
