Sally Kaplan retired from ABC News in 2010 after a 33 year career as Logistics Coordinator and Manager of the camera crews covering assignments out of the Washington News Bureau. Shortly thereafter she began her second “career” as a volunteer for AWLA, showing dogs to prospective adopters and for the last few years participating with other volunteers in conducting doggie playgroups, working on behavior, and providing enrichment activities for the shelter dogs. Sally served on the AWLA Board of Directors from 2016-2022. She lives in Arlington with her partner Larry, and their rescue dog Emmi.
