Last Friday was a tough one at AWLA. Our Animal Control team responded to four separate cruelty/neglect cases and seized nine dogs – four adults and five puppies – all in very bad shape. We’re not sure whether this cluster of cases was a fluke or a trend, but we do know that thanks to friends like you, we were able to take them in and provide the care they needed and deserved.
KODY
Kody arrived at AWLA emaciated, with badly matted fur and pressure sores from being kept in a small crate. He’s currently undergoing a re-feeding program to nurse him back to health.
PLAYGROUND PUPPIES
When their mother had to be euthanized due to the sudden onset of severe seizures, these puppies needed immediate intervention and care. Now, they are growing into happy, healthy puppies and after their spay/neuter surgeries this week, will be available for adoption (The puppies have been named Sandbox, Hopscotch, Duck Duck Goose, Dodgeball & Teeter Totter)!
MOLLY
Molly was found wandering the streets, severely emaciated and in desperate need of help. We were able to find her owner, and charges are pending against the individual. Despite her rough start, we’re determined to give her the love and care she deserves.
ROXY & SIRIUS
These two dogs were taken from the same home that Molly was living in. While they are in better condition than Molly, they’re still underweight and need our help to become healthy and find loving homes.
This is why we’re launching our spring matching gift campaign EARLY to raise the funds needed for their medical treatment, rehabilitation, and ongoing care.
Your donation today will have double the impact, thanks to a generous friend of the shelter.
Please, consider making a donation today to help us provide life-saving care to these amazing animals. Together, we can make a difference and give these dogs the lives they deserve. Thank you for your compassion and support.
Sincerely,
Caroline Ruiz
