Banfield Foundation’s investment enables AWLA to deliver its planned Community Care Clinics this fall as well as two additional clinics in spring 2026, providing comprehensive free veterinary services — including wellness exams, core vaccines, flea and tick preventatives, and nail trims — to pets whose families face financial or other barriers to accessing veterinary care.
“Banfield Foundation’s partnership with AWLA strengthens our ability to keep pets healthy while remaining with the families who love them,” said Lauren Lipsey, AWLA’s President and CEO. “Their support allows us to focus on what matters most – providing excellent care to our community.”
Strengthening Community Impact
The program is already showing strong results: AWLA has provided care for 163 pets from 119 households through the first two Community Care Clinics of 2025, hosted at the AWLA shelter and a partner church location. With Banfield Foundation’s support, the organization will continue this vital work with its planned fall clinics and expand programming into spring 2026.
AWLA’s quarterly Community Care Clinics, supported by partners such as Banfield Foundation, operate at both the shelter and satellite locations in underserved areas, reaching pet owners across Arlington County and the surrounding region.
