Gary Sturm is emeritus curator of musical instruments at the Smithsonian Institution. He was active in the creation of the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix in 2010, is the founding President of the Capitol Skating Fund, which fosters regional figure skaters, and is a past Board Chairman of the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. Gary resides in Alexandria with his wife, Carlene, and two adopted dogs, Stevie and Jessie.
